Don’t lie to yourself, Drake is not difficult to like as an artist, but something could be said about the the hip-pop production surrounding his vocals. Maryland’s McClenney brings a more balanced sound than the original, incorporating acoustic piano along smooth R&B.

Creating a idiosyncratic sound, the name “Thriftworks” begins to not only resonate as an artist, but as a genre as well. Dark, but sometimes sweet, while always carrying an essence of belonging to a completely different world, space and time, his sound integrates trip-hop, glitch, and trap twined with some of the most peculiar samples I have ever heard.

In our opinion, getting into trouble just means you did something  r e a l l y  fun, and we never see that as a bad thing. Luckily we have West Coast music label, Perfect Driver to introduce us to Brighton-based troublemaker, George Kwali.

Judging by a quick search on “the important” social media outlets, Kwali as a producer, appears to be relatively new to the scene. In tune with Perfect Driver’s 4×4 style, George keeps it real by tuning you into some straightforward house music.

If someone asks you if you want to get into some trouble today, bring down the tone in your voice and say, “YA, UH HUH.”

Generally not digging for chuggers in the morning, esp. a Monday. Alas, Jade Statues pops into my stream, demonstrating a softer, ethereal side of bass music with his track, “P H T H A L O G R E E N.”
