Can you think of a DJ name better than HugLife? A couple years ago there was no HugLife, but Slink.

Formally known as DJ Slink, Heath Shinpaugh, A.K.A. HugLife was actually pushed into changing his name after traveling to Japan and finding out there was a younger Sliink who was aggressively trying to be the one and only. Heath was confused as he had been at it for about a decade at that point. Instead, he took the high road.

Despite the loss of his growing network of fans on his Slink pages- Heath gave it all up and renamed himself. Here is my take on the issue:

Firstly, HugLife is an absolutely perfect name for a DJ rounding up festivals around the nation and,  secondly, his demeanor toward the whole the Slink/Sliink “episode” is nothing short of badass.

Somewhat of a North American nomad, Heath- no matter the name he performs under, has made a impressive mark within the booming future bass and trap scene along the states and abroad.

So…What did we learn today? That Heath Shinpaugh is not only an extremely talented producer, but also one hell of a dude who just wants to help you have a good time.

Check out his newest track, a remix of Tech N9ne’s Fragile, feat. ¡MAYDAY! and Kendall Morgan. Live guitar and melodic vocals are a perfect juxtaposition for that HugLife bass.
