Getting A View of Legend4ry

January 14, 2015
Post Image

London-based producer, Legend4ry just released his stellar second full-length album, A View of Me, through Dank ‘N’ Dirty Dubz record label. A View of Me boasts an array of solo productions filled with vibey organic sounds, gentle baselines, and free-flowing melodies, along with a notable collaboration with The Widdler and the debut of his new side-project, Deep Fellows.

Legend4ry explained that this new album is a reflection of everything that has gone on in his life, and that the songs featured on the album are the tracks he wrote to help him preserver through hard times while simultaneously capturing, in his own way, the good times. As a result, each song on this 8-track release can truly be felt coming from the soul.

Music lovers can download the album for free or buy the album through donation. All the money received through donations will go to Shelter UK to help the homeless and families in need in the United Kingdom.

1.31.15 With Music So Nice, You Have To Say It Twice

January 13, 2015

Team Supreme member and Mad Decent wonder kid, Djemba Djemba, has breathed an entirely new vibe into electronic music production since the release of his first single back in 2011. Djemba Djemba is one of the few up-and-coming artists that stays fresh with each new release and refuses to settle on one single sound. From the fun and unique trap inspired style of, “Oh Okay Yeah That’s Cool,” to the extremely entrancing and thoughtful track, “Discontent,” Djemba Djemba constantly delivers pristine releases with a variety of authentic and dynamic sounds and styles.

This incredibly gifted Brooklyn DJ/producer has been demanding attention from the EDM world and has managed to gather both attention and support from the likes of BBC Radio, Diplo, Rusko, The Gaslamp Killer, Clicks and Whistles, Baauer and Major Lazer, just to name a few. Currently focusing on a few exciting collaborations, we’re gladly looking forward to seeing a lot more of Djemba Djemba in 2015.

Djemba Djemba will be joining us in Santa Barbara January 31st at Earl Warren Showgrounds. For more info about the show, check out the event page on Facebook and purchase tickets here.

Tom Boy

If you aren’t down with the Beastie Boys, you are either too young, or were not that cool when you were young.

House producer / DJ Tom Flynn takes some of you back, and introduces the other to the baddest boys in the 80’s & 90’s with his bootleg of “Sure Shot.” At first I assumed a house rendition of anything Beastie Boys was going to be overbearing, but Flynn’s 4×4 take on hip-hop legends is simple, cool & nostalgic.

With releases on esteemed labels, Hot Creations & Dirtybird, it is safe to say, Tom Flynn is a techno, house, and clearly, old-skool hip-hop veteran.

Faded Again

January 12, 2015
Post Image

Music hunters have been somewhat violated by the amount of ZHU “Faded” remixes / edits / flips that have been released within the past year, but we were reminded of what, may just be, our favorite rendition of the almost obnoxiously re-worked track when we gave Huglife’s Unthugged mix, I dono, like, a million listens.

“Future bass” as a genre has been as overused and abused as remixing this track has been. I’m surely guilty of categorizing a grip of tracks as “future bass,” because it’s the future, and after all, it’s almost all bass- but God damn! If this isn’t some future bass, than IDK WTF is.

Friends in Florida, producers Mr. Furbzz & RUEN, link-up and revive a track that has been flatlining for months.

1.31.15: Get Loud W/ Loudpvck

January 9, 2015
Post Image

New York City hip-hop producer, Kenny Beats and LA electronic producer, Ryan Marks AKA Loudpvck are a trap duo that have spent their career differentiating themselves from the rest of the EDM bunch. Together the two produce music that constantly challenges and blurs the lines between hip-hop and dance music. The two derive inspiration from the vibes of hip-hop’s quintessential 808 influenced drums and use it as a springboard to play and experiment with any and every sub-genre. In doing so, they’ve arrived at a sound that is uniquely their own and have received an immense amount of support from fans and peers alike.

Over the past few years, Loudpvck has managed to remix tracks for Nervo, Kill the Noise, and Carnage, make several appearances on BBC Radio One, and receive solid support from artists like Skrillex, A-Trak, Dillon Francis, Zeds Dead, Diplo, Danny Brown, 12th Planet, Carnage, AC Slater, DJ CRAZE, Bro Safari, Brillz and Paper Diamond. With this impressive musical resume, Loudpvck has proven time and time again to be quite the electronic powerhouse. Whether they are collaborating, remixing, or working alone, Kenny Beats and Ryan Marks are guaranteed to deliver music with heavy hip-hop swag repackaged for the 21st century.

Loudpvck will be joining us in Santa Barbara January 31st at Earl Warren show ground. To get  more info about the show, check out the event page on Facebook and purchase tickets here.
